2013 Novel Sales

-My year in publishing- I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a great new year. As I do twice a year, I post what I’ve sold/given away over the year (or previous six months in the case of posting in June). As I discovered over the year when putting books into Kindle Select, that it’s become really over-rated, even the Kindle Countdown idea could use a lot more work, since I couldn’t get that to work for me either. Free days work well in that I’m getting lots of downloads, but doesn’t seem to boost sales beyond that, or even net borrows from Amazon Prime Members. I guess that … Continue reading

Today only, Timothy Phillips is free on Kindle (the link should take you to your home country's store). The first review for the novel was posted on Amazon: 5.0 out of 5 stars It Starts With The Little Things By D. Austin   This is a great add on to The Times of Trouble series, but holds its own as a stand alone book. Timothy is "discovered" in a church and loves singing Gospel. When he wins a contest and starts his recording career, he gets too busy to read his bible, he can do it later; there will be time for devotions later; he can call or email his … Continue reading

New Book Review of Times of Trial

Christian blogger LaTawnia Kintz has reviewed Times of Trial for me, and gave it four stars on Amazon. She reviewed Times of Trouble last year for me too. I could use more reviews for either novel, so if anyone is willing to review the novels, please contact me and I’ll send you a Smashwords coupon to download it for free. Download the ebook directly from my website or buy the paperback/ebook from other online retailers. LaTawnia Kintz Book Review Blog Times of Trial can be read as a stand-alone or with Times of Trouble. Like Times of Trouble, Times of Trial is about the end-times and persecution of Christians in … Continue reading

Books and Word of Mouth

You find a book, let’s say you randomly pick it up at the library while browsing the shelves for something new to read, or you do it at the bookstore, and its from a author that you never heard of, and more than likely, most people hadn’t heard of either, but the book’s description makes it sound like something you’d want to read. So you read it. You find that you enjoyed it so much, you tell your friends, family, co-workers, and others about it. Eventually, you read every book this author puts out. You might like some of the novels, you might dislike others, but this once unknown author … Continue reading

Two new reviews

In the last week, I’ve received two new reviews for two different novels, both of which are 5 stars. The first one is for Out of Time, which is my very first novel that I published in 2008 as a total newbie, where I mistakenly used iUniverse as a publisher and spent way too much for a novel that wasn’t really ready for prime time. Two years later, I went back through it, added scenes, corrected grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and fixed dialogue. I decided to do a fresh re-publish of  it on the Kindle a little over a year ago(along with a new version of the paperback on Createspace), … Continue reading

Book Review from Christian Book Review

I received another book review, this one from Christian Book Review. They gave it 5 stars on Amazon, which is the non-spoiler version: Times of Trouble novel’s backdrop is on the End Times and all the other events leading to it. It is like a true story as most of the character sketches, circumstances, and plots are familiar and possible to happen in real life. Honestly, this is the very first Christian fiction novel I have read and reviewed and I appreciate Cliff Ball’s heart to keep on stressing and repeating the importance of God, Bible, prayer, salvation, church, fellowship, close family ties, purity before marriage, and honesty about the … Continue reading
